“Oh, Isaac! Oh, yes! Keep going!” With each cry of mine, his thrusts grow faster.

I can feel the tension building up again, and I know how close I am. I grab onto my man, holding him as tightly as I can, lost in passion. With one last shout of his name, my body stiffens. I am thrown into a state of euphoria as my juices leak out of me.

After he comes, Isaac cradles me to his chest. He covers my face with gentle kisses. Dizzy and unable to move, I lay in his arms a while. When I can finally move again, I turn to face him. We lay on our sides, looking at each other. I realize he has pulled the blankets around us. He smiles at me. I decide now is the right time to explain everything.

“I have something important to tell you,” I announce.

Isaac nods and runs a finger under my chin. “Okay, I'm listening,” he says while looking at me intently.

“I'm pregnant...with your baby.”

I look at his face waiting for his reaction. I see shock, surprise, then delight. Isaac pulls me into a cuddly hug and places a deep kiss on my lips.

“This is the best news I have ever received!” he says after the kiss. I feel relief wash over me once I hear his words. “I can't believe it. We are going to have a baby!”

I laugh a little. “I'm glad you're happy,” I reply, snuggling against him.

“Of course, I am. And I want you to know something,” he continues. The serious tone he uses prompts me to look at him. “I promise I will never leave your side,” he says.

Those are the words I wanted to hear. I pull his face to mine and kiss him.

Epilogue - Mia

I fix my cap and gown as I sit with the rest of my graduating class. I'm so excited. My graduation day is finally here. I can't believe it! I look out at the crowds of people that are attending. I'm so thrilled I find it hard to concentrate on the speeches that are being given.

Thinking back on all that these past few years have brought, I'm amazed that I made it to this day. It was a pretty wild ride, but everything that happened was worth it.

Isaac catches my eye and waves. I smile at him.

I remember when I first introduced him to my mom. Naturally, she wasn't happy about the fact that he was older, but in the end, she had no choice but to accept our relationship. I mean, it is my life and my decision after all.

The speeches soon end so, I look towards the stage. They start calling us up and handing out our diplomas. I'm on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I look to Isaac again, and he gives me an encouraging smile. I'm so in love with him it is ridiculous. He is my whole world.

Gradually they get to my row. I stand and follow the others single file to the stage. Isaac claps loudly and blows me a kiss. Beside him, my mother smiles proudly. My father is seated next to her, also smiling.

I think back on their crazy reunion story. It happened not long after the fire. My mother felt terrible about everything that happened to my father. So bad that she actually left her new boyfriend in Atlantic City.

She waited patiently for my father to be released from prison. Once he was out, she was by his side. Now they are happy together and in love once more like nothing ever happened between them. It’s crazy, but I'm glad to see them back together and so comfortable.

As I walk across the stage and get my diploma, I turn and smile. The four of them look so happy. Isaac holds our son in his arms. Terry waves at me with his pudgy little hand. Tears fill my eyes. This is one of the happiest moments in my life.

Afterward, I take my diploma and walk back to my seat. We wait for the rest of the ceremony to finish.

As soon as it is over, my mother hugs me tightly. She is crying. “Oh, Mia! I am so proud of you.” I smile and cry a little as well.

“Good job, honey!” My father says proudly.

Isaac remains holding our bouncing baby. After the hug from my dad, I look for him. He leans over and gives me a kiss.

“Oh, my baby is all grown up,” Mother says, about to cry again. My father hugs her. Once my mother is calm, she takes Terry from Isaac.

“What's going on?” I ask, reaching for my almost-two-year-old.

Mom pulls back. “We're babysitting. This is your graduation. You two need time to celebrate,” she explains.

We start to walk together back to our cars. “Are you sure about that?” I ask.
